Mr. Gandhi Popularity is brought up because survey results on the popularity of the leaders frequently surface prior to elections or even after the results. NDTV Public Opinion has released a report with similar findings. It asserts that since the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi’s popularity has soared.

Some surveys are showing that Rahul’s speech in Parliament was liked or heard more than Prime Minister Modi’s speech. NBT Hindi’s survey showed that 90 percent listened and liked Rahul while only 10 percent listened and liked Prime Minister Modi. The result of the survey of anchor Rubika Liaquat, famous for her unique style of TV show, is that 66 percent of people saw Rahul Gandhi, while 34 percent of people saw and listened to the Prime Minister’s speech. On Satya Hindi, these figures are 93 and 7 percent respectively, while the number of viewers on Sansad TV was recorded as 3.4 and 2.3 lakh respectively.

These figures are available in media reports. In this mirror it can be clearly seen that Rahul’s speech was heard and seen more and maybe even liked and Modi’s speech was neither eagerly awaited nor seen and heard more. There is no doubt that Rahul’s popularity has increased. His series started with Bharat Jodo Yatra. As during the yatra one had to walk 22–23 km daily and during this time there were meetings with people from different sections of the society whose news was being advertised daily all over the country, hence Rahul’s fame and popularity was gradually increasing. As long as the Yatra has been in the news, Rahul’s fitness has been a particular topic of discussion.

His humble and enthusiastic way of meeting everyone also impressed the public immensely. This was the time when his popularity was reaching new heights. Then the ongoing case against him, his repeated court appearances, then a two-year sentence, a move to the higher courts, upholding the sentence, then being stripped of his membership in Parliament, deprived of a government bungalow. Jana means to say that there were and are many reasons, due to which Rahul was becoming the center of attention and his popularity was increasing, this process continues even today.

In the aforementioned survey, only the effectiveness of the speeches in the Parliament has been assessed, but Rahul’s career and popularity graph cannot be judged on just one occasion or one speech. neutralized the ongoing propaganda and then paved the way for Rahul’s advance.

But this does not mean that Rahul, who is increasing in popularity, will remain ahead in the election race. It may or may not happen. It depends on how purposefully and enthusiastically Congress tries to capitalize on Rahul’s popularity and convert it into electoral success. After Himachal, he won in Karnataka too, now the challenge is to move towards 2024 by conquering MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Congress understands this challenge, the need to accept it and draw a big line. Rahul’s meeting with common people, sometimes with truckers, sometimes with farmers, sometimes with vegetable vendors and sometimes with students, is a very effective and endearing way of getting close to the people and making a place in their hearts. Not only the concerned class is affected by it, but every common man of the country also likes this way of getting down to earth level and getting closer. This commitment to the people will also bring political benefits to Rahul and his party.
